Motherland
“Motherland” is a collection of photographs taken on or around Washington Blvd., the heart of the Armenian community in Pasadena and the epicenter of my childhood. Through this series, I have attempted to present a collection of short stories without words, using photography's ability to form locale through editing and presentation. The images tell tales of a cultural nexus through the individuals and environments depicted, using symbols and fragmented narratives to create and define a place in and of itself.
